  Plan Design Guide
Profit Sharing Plan

What kind of owners benefit:

All owners but especially younger owners with older employees.

Also owners who have already accrued a large benefit in a previous defined benefit plan.

The employer who finds this plan attractive is one who:
Prefers to have contributions be discretionary so that no contribution is required if he doesn't want to.
Is happy with a maximum benefit to any individual participant of $30,000 per year.
Desires to keep administrative costs lower.
Can be satisfied that the overall contribution is limited to 15% of aggregate compensation.
